Hindi film actor Chitrangada Singh recently shot for a sizzling item number for the Tamil film Anjaan near Panvel in Mumbai. Directed by Linguswamy, the film stars Suriya, Samantha and Murli Sharma. Dressed in a blood red skirt and hot blouse, Chitrangada gave perfect moves for the song which has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

 

Sherlyn Chopra in regional films

According to reports, Sherlyn Chopra has signed a multi-lingual film titled Bad Girl. The film will be made in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Apparently, she has been signed for a whopping sum of `One Crore and Ten Lakhs to play the lead role. Loosely based on Monica Bellucci’s Oscar winning film Malena, the film will be directed by award winning director Shajiyem of the Malayalam film Ms Lekha Tharoor Kaanunnathu fame.
Being produced by Shah Productions, Bad Girl will go on floors this summer.

 

Victor Banerjee-starrer wins audience choice award at US fest

Victor Banerjee-starrer Ekhon Nedekha Nadir Xipaare (As River Flows), a socio-political Assamese thriller set in the river island of Majuli, has won the Audience Choice Award at the North Carolina Film fest. The film also stars Sanjay Suri, Raj Zutshi, Preeti Jhangiani and Bidita Bag.
“The Audience Choice Award for 2014 goes to As River Flows. “It was beautifully made,” North Carolina International South Asian Film Festival director Gauri Singh informed the film’s director Bidyut Kotoky.
The film has also been selected for the upcoming 14th annual New York Indian Film Festival — North America’s oldest and most prestigious destination for feature films, documentaries, and shorts from and about the Indian subcontinent to be held from May 5 to 10. — PTI
