Marathi actresses are not paid well: Manasi Salvi

Low budgets are keeping actress Manasi Salvi away from Marathi films
Marathi actresses are not paid well: Manasi Salvi
Hindi television is keeping actress Manasi Salvi busy these days. The actress who was last seen in the Marathi film 'Asa Mee Ashi Tee' feels that Marathi actresses are not adequately paid.
She said, "I don't mind doing a Marathi film but then it should be a combination of a good script and decent budget. Often Marathi producers are unwilling to pay actresses well. Actors get paid well because usually they are the main protagonist but if they are making a film with a female protagonist then it is always a low budget.
I just don't understand that logic."
Manasi prefers doing Hindi television over Marathi films due to the payment structure. She said, "As actors we survive on acting. It is our bread and butter. Besides as actresses we have a very high maintenance lifestyle, with gym and other things included. I want to be happy in whatever I am doing and if you are not paid well you can't be happy working on that project. I am happy doing Hindi daily soaps. I am not ashamed of being a daily soap actor. I get good roles in the daily soaps and they pay me well."
Often we hear about the tantrums thrown on the sets by actresses. "I like to get things clear on table. I hate nagging the producers later on. Give me a good script, pay me well and I won't trouble you at all," Manasi said. Manasi has also been a part of films like 'Aai Shappath..!' and 'Sadarakshanaay'. Also she has been a part of Hindi daily soaps like 'Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke'.
