Top Indian Mujahideen operative Tehsin Akhtar arrested
Intelligence agencies arrested Indian Mujahideen's (IM) current India commander Tehsin Akhtar alias Monu on Tuesday from Samastipur near the India-Nepal border in Bihar.
A highly motivated and slippery IM operative, Tehsin was wanted for a series of blasts across the country, including the October 27, 2013 attack on a Narendra Modi rally in Patna.
Tehsin's arrest comes close on the heels of the arrest of Waqas Ahmed, a Pakistani national Indian Mujahiddin terrorist. Tehsin is also involved for terror attacks in Varanasi blasts, Puna blast, Bihar's Bodh Gaya blasts, Hyderabad blasts and the 13/7 Mumbai blasts.
Source in Intelligence Bureau said, after Yaseen Bhatkal’s arrest, security agencies had launched a massive hunt for terror operatives from Bihar, Jharkhand, Mumbai and Rajasthan. He escaped from a flat that he shared with Waqas in Mangalore after news of Yasin Batkal arrest was leaked last year.

Special Cell of Delhi Police have arrested four IM terrorsist in Rahasthan, One of them Waqas was also planning to target foreign tourists in Rajasthan and in particular Israeli nationals visiting Pushkar. Trained and recruited in Pakistan by Jamait-ul Dawan, he was presently experimenting to make magnet bombs. A similar type of bomb was used to target Israeli embassy official at New Delhi in 2012.
Meanwhile, high alert is issued in Bihar, Rajasthan and Maharashtra after the arrest of these terrorists. The security has been beefed up at airports, railway stations, hospitals and important religious places. Hotels have been asked to keep an eye on the movement of the visitors.
Earlier, Special Cell of Delhi Police had also arrested Barkat Ali, an Indian Mujahideen terrorist in Jodhpur.
