JOIN USMS Ramaiah Institute of Management bid farewell to its graduating PGDM students of batch 2012-2014 recently.
For most of them, it seemed like just yesterday that they had entered the institute and already, it was time to come out of the comfortable boundaries of their classrooms and into the real business world.
The farewell party was organised by the management and juniors, who decorated the college beautifully.
The event witnessed a cultural extravaganza with music and dance programmes by the juniors. A skit was also presented to give the graduating students a glimpse of the working world. Fun-filled games were conducted and special prizes were given to some students.
The title of ‘Mr Senior’ was won by Shashank VVN, who said, “I achieved this with the support of all my faculty, mentors and friends. Two years have passed by very smoothly and I’ve learnt a lot, especially discipline and commitment.
Starting from the freshers’ party, inter-college events, our fest ‘Perceptions’ to the internship and getting placed, I cherished every moment. I’ll miss my friends and would like to convey my best wishes to all my batchmates and juniors for their future endeavours.”
Arushi Gupta won the title of ‘Ms Senior’. “My college is ‘Awesome’: A – A school after school, W – Wonderful environment to be in, E – encouraging and ever-helping people around, S – systematic and disciplined, O – one roof for all, M – mutual love between the college and students and E – enlightening faculty,” explained Arushi.
‘The Best Dressed Senior’ was won by Divya Narul, who said, “As I reminisce about college, I could think of the jokes and incidents we laughed at, the endless complaints about getting up early for classes, deadlines, assignments etc. But I realise that it’s funny how day by day, nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different and for the better. MSRIM made us what we are today!”
The highlight of the event was a video put together by the juniors, which was full of special memories of the graduating students.
Following this, a lunch was organised where the juniors served their seniors. The outgoing students said that they were pleased with the placements, with a paycheck of Rs 14 lakh being given to Krishnakant, a student.
Gaurav Joshi, who graduated with three attractive placement offers, said, “In the past two years, this college has taught me some important lessons in life – time management, how to multi-task, team work and how to get work done. I’m grateful to it for providing me with three job opportunities, which acted as a big stepping stone towards the progress of my career.”
