Medio Sirjana Tamang pumped in four goals as India’s junior (U-14) girls routed Bhutan 9-0 in the 2014 AFC Girls Regional Championship for South and Central Asia in Colombo on Monday.

BANGALORE: Medio Sirjana Tamang pumped in four goals as India’s junior (U-14) girls routed Bhutan 9-0 in the 2014 AFC Girls Regional Championship for South and Central Asia in Colombo on Monday.
At the Baddegana football training centre Sirjana came out all guns blazing in the second half as she struck in the 50th, 56th, 66th and 69th minute. Striker Roja Devi opened the goal glut in the 21st minute and followed up with another in the 57th minute to help India secure a big win, the All India Football Federation said in a press release.

Midfielder Lifa Gama who score a brace in the first session, firing on target in the 25th and 35+1 minute, and Daya Devi (31st minute) also got on the scoresheet for the inaugural champions. At half-time India were leading 4-0.
The win takes India to nine points from four outings. India is second in the points tally ahead of Iran who lost 0-4 to table toppers Nepal. India’s next match is on Tuesday against Iran.
