Woman slashed, branded for refusing to join flesh trade

BHIWANDI: A 23-year-old Gujrat based woman who was tortured by slashing her breasts and private parts with blade by pimp for refusing to enter in to prostitution in Bhiwandi is mentally disturbed due to trauma she faced and need to go from psychiatrist treatment.
The police probing the matter has found that victim is mentally disturbed due to incident and do not re collecting what was happened with her.
On Friday, Bhiwandi city police has arrested pimp Ruby Munshi,34 and searching for two male accused Alam and Afjal in the case.
Police found that after Alam brought victim from Gujrat sold her to Ruby for Rs 30,000.
It is said when Ruby forced victim in to prostitution, she refused to get involved in to it.
Due to which Ruby started harrasing victim by not giving proper food and used to assault her for few days but when she didn't budge, the pimp with help of Alam and Afzal beat up her and slashed her both breast with blade. The accused also not stopped her they injured her private parts with blade and branded her with a hot iron rod.
The incident came to light when another prostitute Kajal Khan,24 who is involved in to an NGO learned about tortured made by accused pimp to victim in area.
Kajal rushed victim for treatment at state run Indira Gandhi hospital where from later she was shifted in Civic hospital Thane.
In this matter the police has arrested Rubi but other two accused are still on run.
The police have also found accused Afzal is having criminal background and two month ago he was released on bail in a murder case after serving two years in jail.
Another side the incident has shocked to entire 500 prostitutes operating in red light Hanuman Tekdi area.
“I am living in area since last 30 years and earlier was involved in to prostitution business but I have never learned about any such cruelty made by anyone to force someone in prostitution” said, 60 year old former Sufiya Khan (name changed to prevent identity) who now runs hotel.
Prostitute Kajal who is complainant in the case said, “Initially I thought that victim is normally tortured which is routine practice here but when I learned that she is brutally attacked. I decided to lodge complaint so that such incident should never happened with anybody else”.
The prostitutes also demanding that government should do something for the betterment of prostitutes opearing in flesh trade business.
