Lipton Club enter Guzder League 'B' Division final

Lipton Cricket Club thumped Ambedkar Sports Academy by 60 runs to storm into the final of the Guzder League ‘B Division cricket tournament at VCA Jamtha Stadium on Sunday.

NAGPUR: Lipton Cricket Club thumped Ambedkar Sports Academy by 60 runs to storm into the final of the Guzder League ‘B Division cricket tournament at VCA Jamtha Stadium on Sunday.
In a one-sided semifinal, Ambedkar Academy won the toss and elected to field first.
Lipton piled up a huge score of 256 for 5 in 45 overs. Samiteen Bhattacharya hammered 71 off 65 balls.
Abhishek Kawale remained unbeaten on 50 off 31 balls. Onkar Dixit (31), Tushar Kadu (28) and Sujay Kaloti (32 not out) were the other contributors.
Sanket Asare picked up 2 wickets for 49, while Ronit Singh, Vikas Yadav and Yogesh Chandurkar took a wicket apiece.
Chasing a daunting target, Ambedkar Academy were all out 195 in 40.1 overs. Former Vidarbha Ranji star Paresh Sutane smashed 73 in just 70 balls to provide a flying. However, after Sutane’s departure his team failed to cope up with the increasing asking run-rate. Vikrant Deshpande made 36. For Lipton, medium-pacer Prathamesh Hinganikar (2-43) and Samiteen Bhattacharya (2-21) bagged a couple, while Kawale, Dixit and Kadu chipped in with a wicket each.
Lipton Club will now meet Amravati’s Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal in the final next week. HVPM beat Qidwai Club in second semis at the VCA Kalamna ground on Sunday.
