Fancy reading Madam Bovary in around 90 minutes? Want faster Flaubert? Speed reading apps have been getting a bit of attention lately, one in particular, called Spritz claims to take the average reader from 200 words per minute to 1000.
The developers of the app say that in the traditional method of reading, only 20% of reading time is spent processing the content of a text and 80% is devoted to moving the eyes between words.
So put simply, reduce the need to make eye movements and your reading rate will increase.
