Singing for Bollywood doesn’t top Parthiv Gohil’s priority list
While he has been a part of grand Bollywood projects like 'Saawariya' and 'Devdas' in the past, singer Parthiv Gohil has not been a regular feature in more recent Bollywood flicks. Asked about the same, Parthiv says, “It is true that haven’t sung for a Bollywood project after Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster. But then, my priorities have always been a little different and doing live shows is my real passion.
Also, I am very happy with the kind of work that I am doing in Mumbai. Last year, I did a Gujarati music festival called ‘Gujarati Jalso’, where I invited over 150 artists over three days and they sang different genres, highlighting Gujarat’s rich musical legacy. I also did another hugely successful festival last month. But I am always open to doing playback singing for Bollywood.”
He adds, “I have been recording for quite a few Gujarati films, and I think the scenario is changing for the better. Makers of Gujarati films are exploring new subjects and even composers are taking up new challenges, which is heartening. I am also producing music for a TV serial, a musical called Ellis Bridge. It’s fun because today, music isn’t just about composing, but also about making optimum use of the right technology to create something exciting. The possibilities that it offers are endless.”
