Farhan, Sidharth to play reel brothers?
If the buzz in trade circles is any indication, then Farhan Akhtar and Sidharth Malhotra may team up for director Shakun Batra’s next film to be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The director’s first venture, 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu', starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, had been a success.
Sources tell us that Shakun has discussed a few scripts with Karan, who has green-lighted a story about a dysfunctional family that revolves around two brothers.
Reportedly, both are writers by profession and residents of a hill station.
According to our source, Farhan and Sidharth have both been sounded off about this film. He says, “Farhan has been approached and things are still far from being finalised. Farhan is yet to hear the complete script. And then dates etc have to be sorted out as he’s got a couple of films lined up, though he has opted out of his home production Raees, also starring Shah Rukh Khan. Sidharth is Karan’s protégé, so there won’t be any hassles vis-à-vis his dates. Interestingly, Shakun has assisted Farhan Akhtar on Don – The Chase Begins Again, the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s Don. And in the Khaike Paan Banaraswala number, he also stood in for an extra.
When contacted, Shakun maintained, “We haven’t begun casting as yet. That’s all I can say.”
