14 DAY TRIAL // Just this week we solved the mystery of the newly discovered Samsung tablet SM-T700 that turned out to be a Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 tablet with AMOLED screen and 359ppi. But now we are able to bring you more info about the SM-T805 tablet that was also outed a few weeks ago.
For a little recap on the matter, not so long ago a mysterious Samsung tablet going by model number SM-T805 got spotted in an UAProf listing and was later caught getting its Bluetooth SIG certification.
After some time, it was confirmed the SM-T805 was actually an AMOLED tablet coming with a 2560 x 1600 pixel display, in Wi-Fi and LTE flavors.
At approximately the same time, Samsung Hungary claimed a new Galaxy Tab 8.4-inch version equipped with a Super AMOLED display was headed for the country somewhere in June.
The original Galaxy Tab 8.4-inch was launched at CES 2014 in Las Vegas and only had a TFT LCD display, so now it looked like we were finally going to see the long-awaited Samsung AMOLED tablets, which have been rumored for a long time.
The question was whether the SM-T805 is actually the Galaxy Tab 8.4 with AMOLED display, but that theory proved to be incorrect. The Galaxy Tab 8.4 with 2560 x 1600 resolution is actually the SM-T700 model which we saw being detailed in the GFXBench.
But what about SM-T805? Samsung has been rumored for some time as working on 8-inch and 10-inch AMOLED tablet models, so if we have already uncovered the 8-incher, doesn't it make sense the SM-T805 will sport a 10-inch screen?
It appears this theory is correct, as TabletGuide has uncovered the SM-T805 in the same GFXBench database. The listing details most of the specs of the tablet and we can indeed see it’s a 10.5-inch slate with AMOLED display (2560 x 1600 pixel resolution).
Similar to the SM-T700, the SM-T805 also has a Samsung Exynos 5 processor with eight cores, according to the big.LITTLE standard. The four fast cores provide the needed speed while the slow more economical ones handle matters related to battery life.
The tablet is fitted with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. As you’d expect, there are two cameras onboard (7MP on the back and 2MP on front), both capable of shooting video in full HD. The slate will arrive running Android 4.4.2 out of the box. At this point, we can propose the SM-T805 is a Galaxy TabPRO 10.5 version with AMOLED display.
