AHMEDABAD: The Golden Katar Division of the Indian Army on Thursday launched a 10-day 'Joint Forces Expedition' from Ahmedabad, which will cover various regions of Gujarat. The vehicle expedition, flagged off by Lt. Gen. G S Katoch, general officer commanding, Konark Corps, aims at enhancing synergy among the personnel of Indian Army, BSF, police and Indian Coast Guard.
The expedition team, consisting of 13 officers and other ranks from the security forces, will cover 1,520km in 10 days, interact with people of Ahmedabad, Patan, Dholavira, Lakhpat, Jakhau, Okha, Porbandar, Junagadh and Girnar and create awareness about the forces and Gujarat's ecology.

A six-day 'Land Yachting Expedition' is also being conducted in the Rann of Kutch to commemorate the golden jubilee celebration of Konark Air Defence Brigade. The expedition, flagged off by Brigadier Subhash Yadav, commander Konark Air Defence Brigade, on Thursday will explore various places like Dharmshala, Shaktibet while sailing all the way to Karimsahi and approximately cover 112km. The team consists of 26 trained soldiers from various units and is led by Captain Abhinav Sharma.
