HYDERABAD: A security guard and an unidentified man were knocked down by two different trains near Safilguda railway station on Wednesday night.
Government Railway Police (GRP) said that Prabhakar, 38, a security guard at SBH Officers' Quarters in Marredpally, went to attend the call of nature near the Safilguda railway station when he was run over by a train on Wednesday night.
Prabhakar, a resident of Bhagath Nagar in Moula Ali, started from his home on his bicycle to report for night duty.
On the way, he left the bicycle near the underpass near the railway station and went on to the tracks. "Some train passing by at that time hit Prabhakar, killing him on the spot. We found his cycle near the accident spot," GRP sub-inspector Mahesh Kumar said.
In a similar incident, a man, aged about 55, died after he was hit by Akola-Kachiguda inter-state train while he was crossing the railway track near Safilguda railway station on Wednesday night.
Police said the train driver told the police that despite seeing the train approaching, he tried to cross the tracks.
