Director
Madhura Sreedhar has set his sights on directing a cricket based drama next. Curiously titled I'm not Sachin'with a tagline nenu Sachin kadu, the film is set in the backdrop of the IPL match fixing controversy that emerged last year. The filmmaker says, 'The film tells the story of a young cricketer from a humble background. How he becomes a star overnight after bursting into T-20 cricket and struggles to deal with the instant fame and big money and goes astray, getting entangled in a betting scandal is the crux of the story.'
Buzz is that the movie is inspired by disgraced cricketer Sreesanth, who was nabbed by the police on allegations of match-fixing.
'The film is inspired by the lives of many talented young cricketers who have suffered a similar fate. Yes, the events of last year's IPL match-fixing were instrumental in inspiring me to think about making a movie. But it isn't based on the life of any one particular cricketer,' he clarifies.
