They are Commerce Secretary Mahbub Ahmed, Land Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Planning Commission member Hedayetullah Al Mamoon and Secretary of the Energy Ministry Md Mozammel Haque Khan.

Others are Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office Md Abul Kalam Azad, Local Government Division Secretary Monzur Hossain and Public Administration Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury.

The Ministry of Public Administration made the announcement on Wednesday.

Those who are already in the post are Home Secretary CQK Mustaq Ahmed, Parliament Secretary Md Ashraful Mokbul, World Bank’s Alternate Executive Director Mohammad Tareque and Asian Development Bank’s Alternate Executive Director Iqbal Mahmood.

The most recent upgrade means a total of 12 officials will now hold the post.

There are altogether 69 senior secretaries, secretaries and those with equal rank working in the administration.
