Sonakshi and Priyanka Chopra bond over Shahid Kapoor or boxing?

Gone are the days when Bollywood heroines could not stand the sight of their competitors.

Actresses today are more tolerant and not only responding to queries about their colleagues, but are also praising each other on social networking pages and being more than cordial (even if it's for the cameras).  

Actresses Priyanka Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha were recently bonding and talking in detail at an award function.

The girls hugged warmly and were chit chatting for a while before they posed for the cameras.

The camaraderie was heartwarming indeed.

We wondered what they were discussing. Either they were talking about Priyanka’s ex-boyfriend and Sonakshi’s current flame Shahid Kapoor, or they could be discussing boxing.

Boxing? Yes... read on.

Those present were surprised the way the girls met and bonded. It did seem that they had spent a while discussing something on phone much before they had met.

There is one obvious connection between the two - Shahid Kapoor.

Of late Sonakshi has been linked with Shahid while Priyanka and Shahid were seeing each other at one point of time.

Sonakshi and Shahid met during 'R Rajkumar' and later the actress has recommended Shahid‘s name for a film as well.

Wondering what is the boxing connection?

Sonakshi will play a boxer in her upcoming film 'Holiday – A Soldier is Never Off Duty'. The actress will be seen donning the boxer’s gloves and a carefree attitude in the film.

“It has indeed been a good experience playing a boxer. I do have a few boxing sequences as well in the movie,” says the actress.

Sonakshi’s look in the film is being compared to boxing legend Muhammad Ali’s daughter Laila Ali. Apart from training in boxing, she has also worked a lot on her fitness in the movie.

'Holiday...' sees Sonakshi playing Akshay Kumar’s love interest yet again. Action star Akshay is playing an Indian Army’s secret agent in this remake of the Tamil film 'Thuppaki'.

If Sonakshi is inspired by Laila Ali, Priyanka Chopra has her fistfull playing the boxing champion Mary Kom who won a medal for India in the Olympics.

The film produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is being directed by Omung Kumar and Priyanka has done a lot of rigorous training for her role.

“I have trained so much that every bone and every limb and part of my body hurts,” says the actress.

Priyanka found the role harder because she has never been an athlete in her life. Dainty and pretty, Priyanka was more of a Miss India who plunged into films and is literally being given a run for her money in the film.

“I have never played any kind of sport in my life. It’s quite ironic that I am playing a role like that. Cinema allows you to be what you are not and plays various kinds of people as well,” says Priyanka.

Sonakshi Sinha will enter the boxing ring much before Priyanka does and her film will hit the theaters soon.

Interestingly, actor Ranbir Kapoor is also playing a street fighter who is into boxing in the forthcoming film 'Bombay Velvet'.

We are still wondering what the discussion was all about. It really packed a punch!
