Tough run ahead for candidates in Godda
RANCHI: The fight for Godda seat will be a battle to remember with three political parties fielding their contestants from the parliamentary seat.
With JVM(P) deciding to field its second top man Pradeep Yadav from Godda, the race will get interesting as Yadav has to face BJP's sitting MP Nishikant Dubey and Congress's former MP Furkan Ansari.
JVM (P) had announced its list of 12 candidates on March 6 but waited for some time to gauge rival parties' moves.

JMM on March 11 announced that its chief Soren will contest from Dumka and Congress, JMM's ally, announced Furkan Ansari as its candidate. "The decision has been taken after due deliberations among party leaders and subsequent approval by party chief," said JVM (P) principal general secretary Yadav.
Marandi, a sitting MP from Koderma, had earlier decided not to contest the LS polls because he wanted to keep himself free so that he can move around throughout the state and build the party. But Marandi was dissuaded by party workers later. JVM (P) has given ticket for Koderma seat to Pranav Verma, son of five terms Koderma MP RLP Verma.
Both Yadav and Marandi will have to work very hard to win against BJP's popular leader Nishikant Dubey and Jharkhand's tallest leader Shibu Soren respectively.

Godda constituency consists of six assembly seats. The Mahagama seat is with Congress and Godda with RJD. Jarmundi is with an independent while Madhupur and Deoghar seats are with JMM and RJD, respectively. Podaiyahat seat is with JVM (P) from where Yadav is an MLA.
"People of Godda are looking towards JVM, because other leaders have not cared for them," said Yadav. Dubey however claims to have done a lot for the people. As all leaders who try to woo the electorate in their favor, the fight would become interesting regardless of who wins or who looses.
Dumka has six assembly constituencies which are dominated by JMM. Nalin Soren is MLA from Sikaripara, chief minister Hemant Soren is from Dumka, Sita Soren is from Jama, Vishnu Prasad Bhaiya from Jamtara. Only one assembly seat, Nala is represented by Satyanand Jha Batul of BJP. JVM (P) has high hopes of defeating Soren, though.
