L&T Construction Wins Orders Valued ` 5220 Crs Mumbai, February 28, 2014: L&T Construction has won new orders worth ` 5220 crores

across various business segments in January & February 2014.
"It has been a productive beginning to the new year and these orders reaffirm our leadership
position in our various business verticals," said Mr. S N Subrahmanyan, Member of the Board
& Senior Executive Vice President (Infrastructure & Construction), L&T. "Although there is still sluggishness in our economy, these orders reflect that there is some positive movement in the infrastructure sector which augurs well for both the country and L&T going forward", he added.

Water & Renewable Energy Business

The Water & Renewable Energy Business has bagged new orders worth ` 2019 crores.
A Major turnkey order is from Narmada Water Resource Water Supply & Kalpsar Department, Government of Gujarat for Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation Yojana. The scope involves construction of 2 Nos. pumping station with combined pumping capacity of 1288 million gallons per day and supply & laying of twin bulk water transmission mild steel pipelines of 3 meter diameter for providing water to drought prone Saurashtra region of Gujarat.
Second major order has been received from Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Limited, Karnataka for strengthening and augmentation of Indi branch canal in Bijapur district. Major portion of the work is to be completed during shut down period of the canal.
Another order is to setup a 100 million litres per day Common Effluent Treatment Plant for
Narol Textile Cluster near Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Furthermore, an order from Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority is for the development of waste water network & treatment facility in Kolkata on design-build & operate model under NGRBA Scheme (National Ganga River Basin Authority). This is the third consecutive order bagged by L&T under NGRBA scheme in Kolkata Region. The company has also received an order from Gujarat Water Supply & Sewerage Board for the construction of waste water network in Junagadh district of Gujarat.

Building & Factories Business

In the Buildings & Factories Business new orders worth ` 1461 crores have been received.
A major order is from West Bengal Medical Services Corporation Limited for planning, design and construction of health care hospitals along with supply of medical equipment in the state of West Bengal on turnkey basis.
A turnkey order has been bagged from a global software solution provider for the design and construction of office space in Mumbai. The scope involves structural design, civil works for building and other services which includes building envelope with glazing, civil finishes, interior fit outs, mechanical, electrical and plumbing & its associated works.
Another order is from a leading cement manufacturer for the execution of civil and structural works for the proposed large clinker and cement plant at Chhattisgarh.
Additional orders have also been received from various ongoing jobs.

Power Transmission & Distribution Business

The Power Transmission & Distribution Business has bagged new orders worth ` 1001 Crores.
A major international order has been bagged by L&T Saudi Arabia LLC, a fully owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited from National Grid, Saudi Arabia (a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company) for construction of 161 kms of 110kV Double Circuit transmission line in Western Region of Saudi Arabia. This order was secured against a stiff international competition.
The contract encompasses EPC construction of two Nos. of 110 kV overhead transmission lines from Taif East Governorate substation to Turbah substation (79 km route length) and another to Ranyah substation (82 km route length), extra high voltage cabling of approximately 1 Km. The scope involves design and testing of 110 kV family of towers, detailed engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of towers, conductors, insulators, optical ground wires and fittings. The project has to be completed in 20 months.
Another international order is from Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research for supply &
installation of 132/11 kV main substation in Al-Shagaya area of Kuwait.
On the domestic front, the business received a major contract from National Thermal Power Corporation involving Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of 765 kV & 132 kV Switchyards for power evacuation & transmission from Gadarwara STPP Stage - 1 (2x800MW), Madhya Pradesh.

The Business also bagged an order from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for supply, erection, testing & commissioning of power distribution network for enhancing rural electricity infrastructure under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana Scheme for prospective consumers covering all Blocks in Birbhum district, Murhshidabad and Uttar Dinajpur districts of West Bengal.

Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business

In the Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business new orders worth ` 739 Crores have been bagged. A major EPC order was received from National Highways Authority of India for construction
of a new four lane extra dosed heavy bridge across the river Narmada and six laning of a portion of Vadadora-Surat section of NH-8 in Gujarat.
Another order is from Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Department of Atomic Energy for the work of excavation, dewatering and sub soil investigation of various buildings of fast reactor fuel cycle facility at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu.
Additional orders also been received from various ongoing jobs.
