HC’s directive to DC Kishtwar in custodial death case

JAMMU, Mar 11: In a petition filed by the father of young boy, who was allegedly killed in police custody after being shown as Pakistani militant, seeking direction for exhuming the body for DNA test, High Court today directed the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to file fresh status report.
After hearing Advocate S S Ahmed appearing for the petitioner, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir observed, “as per the earlier order Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has filed status report along with order whereby Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has been appointed as Nodal Officer to take further steps in association with CDFD laboratory Hyderabad for collecting the samples and obtaining the result after profiling of DNA”.
“Petitioner shall report to Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar so as to enable him to take follow up”, High Court said and directed Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to file status report after four weeks.
