Hayes, Inc. Launches Exclusive Service for GTE Clients
Lansdale, PA (PRWEB) March 10, 2014 -- The number of genetic tests on the market is exploding in the United States. In fact, more than 3000 genetic tests are available today and that number increases at a rate of about 25% each year. No wonder healthcare providers, insurers, and even patients are having a tough time deciding whether or not a genetic test is appropriate.
To help clients make sense of the confusing genetic-testing landscape, Hayes, Inc., a leader in promoting better health outcomes through the use of evidence, is launching a new and complimentary service, Get Your Genetics On: Open Forum with Hayes Genetic Experts, beginning on March 19, 2014. During these hour-long interactive webinars, Dr. Diane Allingham-Hawkins, PhD, FCCMG, FACMG, Director of the Genetic Test Evaluation (GTE) Program at Hayes, Inc., and genetic counselor Lisa Cushman-Spock, PhD, CGC, will answer clients’ most pressing questions about genetic testing.
“We’ve listened to our clients and know they are trying to answer three important questions: Is this test suitable for this particular patient? How will this test improve outcomes for this patient? And, most importantly, is this test safe and reliable for use in clinical care?” explains Dr. Diane Allingham-Hawkins, PhD, FCCMG, FACMG, Director of the Genetic Test Evaluation Program. “We’ve designed this new service to include plenty of time for participants to ask questions and informally discuss their specific genetic-testing issues.”
Three open forums are scheduled currently, and Hayes GTE clients can participate in any one or all of them. Additional forums will take place throughout the year.
