ALLAHABAD: The authorities of
Kendriya Vidyalaya New Cant have got the approval for opening additional section of class I to IX in the second shift of their school; thereby creating an additional 360 seats in the school, 40 each in these classes.
KV New Cant was given approval for opening second shift of the school in the 2013-14 academic year itself following which they started classes from I to VIII in the second shift.
The school accommodated around 300 new students in this shift. The infrastructure and the principal remained same for the second shift which runs from 12 to 5 pm. The morning shift of runs from 6.30 am to 12.30 pm.
"The enhancement of the number of seats will help those parents, especially those of the civil population, who wish to admit their wards in KV but somehow do not come under the criteria", said principal of the school, Shalini Dikshit. The school will start the process for the fresh intake within this month itself, she added.
