TMC a party of anti-socials: Buddha

The closer the elections are, the greater is the need felt for a non-Congress, non-BJP government at the Centre.

The CPM politburo member told the crowd that there is a need for an alternative to both the Congress and the BJP.

Former West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, addressing an election rally at Ranaghat Saturday, said the Trinamool Congress was fast turning into a party of “anti-socials.”
With the police turning a blind eye towards crimes, he said, these “anti-socials” have created an atmosphere of terror in the state.

In the past three years, the women in the state have been the worst sufferers and not a single case of rape is being properly investigated and taken to their logical conclusions, added Bhattacharjee.

The CPM politburo member told the crowd that there is a need for an alternative to both the Congress and the BJP.  “We do not need leaders in this country any more, we need alternative policies to give relief to the people.” .

Bhattacharjee launched an attack on the Mamata Banerjee government, saying the story of development that this government is telling to the people is limited to laying foundations.

Festive offer

“People will soon realize the hollowness of such promises.” he said.  In a sharp attack on Mamata, he said a lot of projects of the Left are being “given a fresh coat of blue and white paint”.
Bhattacharjee underlined that industrialists have deserted the state.

“Industries like Infosys and Wipro have stopped expanding. New industrial towns were coming up at Singur and at Salboni. Both have stopped and there is little hope for new ones to come,” he said while adding “there is need for change now in Bengal.”
