The parents of a medical student, a resident of Orai district, pursuing BDS from King George's Medical College in Lucknow, arrived on the Ganesh Shanker Vidyarthi Medical College searching for him.

KANPUR: The parents of a medical student, a resident of Orai district, pursuing BDS from King George's Medical College in Lucknow, arrived on the Ganesh Shanker Vidyarthi Medical College searching for him. Vineet Kumar has been missing since March 2 after he told his family members that he is going to participate in the strike by the students of the GSVM Medical College in protest against the police atrocities.
Vineet's parents have lodged a missing complaint with the Orai police on Friday.
The worried parents apprised the GSVM authorities about the issue. The parents of Vineet Kumar got worried when they came to know that he had not come to GSVM. His mobile phone is switched off. "My son is a second year student of BDS in KGMU. He has gone missing from Orai after he left the house, saying that he will join the strike in GSVM but he could not be located anywhere," said Jagram Pal. Meanwhile, the students of GSVM Medical College took out a candle march to protest against the police brutalities. The students marched through the campus and demanded appropriate security for the medicos.
The students demanded that the cases against the 24 students be withdrawn. Textile minister Shiv Kumar Beria, who has been appointed by the state government to deal with the medicos case, visited GSVM Medical College on Saturday and assured the students that the compensation for the damages caused to the hostel rooms and other valuables will be given from the chief minister's relief fund. He also visited the hostel rooms before visiting the LLR Hospital to see the medical services there.
