GYEEDA rot: Humado must be sacked and prosecuted - Atubiga

A member of the NDC’s communication team, Stephen Atubiga, has called for the immediate prosecution of Agricultural Minister Clement Kofi Humado, for his alleged involvement in the GYEEDA scandal.

According to Stephen Atubiga, it is surprising that the president has not taken the initiative to sack him from his post despite the controversy surrounding him.

Mr Humado who was the Youth and Sports Minister when the malfeasance took place at GYEEDA has denied any involvement in the scandal.

But speaking on the Analyst Saturday, Mr Atubuga said the minister must either resign or be dismissed by the president to enable him face prosecution.

“There was a minister that was in charge and GYEEDA was under that ministry; that Minister ought to resign from his job, he must be questioned.

“You cannot take the smaller people and leave the big head. He must be prosecuted…Mr Humado, why is he still at post…we want to know why,” Mr. Atubiga told Nana Agyeman host of the Analyst.

Member of Parliament for Chiana Paga and former National Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme, now Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) Abuga Pele and CEO of Goodwill International Group (GIG), Philip Akpene Assibit have been slapped with nineteen charges in the GYEEDA trial.

The charges include intentionally misapplying state resources by authorizing payments to Goodwill International Group, as well as willfully causing financial loss to the state.
