TEMPO.CO, Leicester - Scientists believe that the fastest man on earth, Usain Bolt, could be flying if he performs his stunning running speed on Saturn's largest moon, the Titan. The research team of Leicester University has published their calculation on the Journal of Physics Special Topics, March edition.

The researchers describe the nitrogen-rich atmosphere of Titan is an ideal condition for Bolt to take off, the man only needs to wear a wingsuit. On Titan, the surface pressure is nearly 50 percent stronger than the earth's, meaning that the imbalance of pressure above and below the wings of Bolt’s (hypothetical) wingsuit would achieve lift relatively easily.

The team found that given the average wingsuit area (1.4-meter squared), any individual running above 11 meters per second would be able to take flight. With his recorded speed of 12.27 meters per second, Usain Bolt would be flying before he touches down the finish line of 100-meter running track. And as Bolt has been clocked at top speeds of 12.27 meters per second, he would be in the air before he hit the finish line in a 100 meter sprint.

"I had seen a lot of claims online that humans would be able to fly on Titan, but no one had given the physics behind it. I thought it would be interesting to try it with a wingsuit – something that you actually use on earth. It is a really exciting idea that someone like Usain Bolt could actually fly unaided. It would give a whole new dimension to travelling," said Hannah Lerman, one of the University students who authored the study, as quoted by the Independent.

However, even if we were able to arrive in the Titan, with other scientific facts of its atmospheric conditions such as the - 179,20C temperature, the 'blazingly fast' human Usain Bolt would not be able to run in that heat.
