Political realignment has commenced in divided Andhra Pradesh with top guns of Congress and other regional outfits scouting for new allies and different combinations.

Former chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy said he will launch his party on March 12 at Rajamundry 'for protecting and uniting' Telugu people of both regions.

The MIM president, Assaduddin Owaisi, parted ways the Congress to protest against President's Rule and giving governor Narasimhan extraordinary powers over law and order in the undivided state. Owaisi declared the snapping of tie-up with the Congress in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation with the resignation of the mayor, Mohammed Majid Hussein. Union minister of state for HRD and NTR's elder daughter Daggubati Purandeswari announced her decision to join the BJP along with her husband D Venkateswar Rao. Similarly the actor brother of Chiranjeevi - Pawan Kalyan - has also announced his political foray and intention to contest parliament and assembly polls on his own new political platform.

Kiran Kumar Reddy and 12 others have filed a PIL in the Supreme Court against the bifurcation of AP. A bench headed by chief justice P Sathasivam, before whom the matter was mentioned, agreed to list his plea along with other petitions which will be taken up tomorrow for hearing.
