Looks like Ganesh is a perfectionist when it comes to his work. The actor, who plays a chef in Dil Rangeela, took his role so seriously that he actually signed up for some culinary lessons in order to play his part convincingly onscreen. “We were shooting in a five-star hotel in Mysore, and every day after the shoot, I would run to the kitchen for my cooking lessons,” says the actor.
While he observed chefs at work, he also mastered technicalities of cooking. “A chef taught me how to chop vegetables, spin roomali rotis, and make vegetable clear soup, among other things. But more than that, I learnt things such as hospitality, cleanliness, presentation, the general body language and most of all, humilty. It was an enriching experience,” says Ganesh.
So, did he prepare any dish for everyone on the set? “Not really, but after we wrapped up, I called director Preetham (Gubbi) and a couple of my friends and prepared biryani for them. They were not sure about my culinary skills, but once they tasted it, they were all very happy,” he smiles.
