A team of officials from KfW, a German development bank, will visit localities across the city this week to review traffic and transport infrastructure.
The team will inspect existing bridges and review new proposals. Traffic on structures constructed to ease traffic congestion in areas such as Rangarajapuram, Villivakkam and Mint will be reviewed by the team, sources said. The traffic condition in spots where proposals for new flyovers have been made will be reviewed.
The German development bank has been playing a key role in funding of a number of civic infrastructure projects in the city.
Chennai Corporation has already constructed bridges in areas such as Mint with funding from various agencies.
Proposals for new bridges have been made in areas such as Kotturpuram, T.Nagar and Nungambakkam to ease traffic congestion, said sources. Some of the proposals for flyovers involve various options that require more than a hundred crore rupees.
