INDORE: On the direction of the state high court, sleuths of director general of central excise intelligence (DGCEI) opened the seal from the shop, Krishna Gold, owned by Rinku Laddha who is the wife of Venkatesh Laddha here on Wednesday.
The sleuths had sealed the shop located at Chhota Sarafa, here on January 29, after 35kg gold was seized by them. Laddhas’ had gone to the high court, after the seizure, demanding for probe to begin into the case and reopening of their shop.

The advocate for Laddhas’, Vikas Nigam, said, “The sleuths had seized the gold cache from Gujarat on January 29 and after recovering quite a few receipts of Krishna Gold (Indore), they had also sealed its shop here. However no probe was taking place into the matter for quite some time. It is why we had filed a petition in the high court here.”
However, sources said that the probe into the shops of Kriti Bullion, which has got one of its outlets near to that of Krishna Gold, will continue. Nothing was happening after its shop in Chhota Sarafa had been sealed by the sleuths of the department on January 29 itself.
