Dilkusha Methodist High School students will know today the house winner of their inter-house after their competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, yesterday.
The winner was not announced as the meet finished late yesterday.
The school insists they remain unaffected by the new age grades and qualification times set by the Fiji Secondary Schools Amateur Athletics Association this year.
Speaking to SUNsports during the inter-house meet manager Ledua Akapusi said they were happy with the ruling.
“It has no effect on us. We are indifferent to the new rulings so it’s not an issue on any level for us. We’ll just work on improving our performance from last year to better our results for this year at the zone and national level.”
Akapusi said all the students enjoyed using the ANZ Stadium tracks.
“The competition has been really good so far and I know that’s in large part to the venue. It’s been very interesting having a competition at the stadium and everyone’s really enjoyed and made full use of these world-class facilities.”
Akapusi said the main focus of the school was to improve their five gold medal finish at last year’s Triple N Zone meet.
“We will work on improving from last year by adding two more gold medals to the five we took home after the Triple N Zone and we also want to increase our squad for the Coca-Cola Games as well as our chances of winning medals.”
The final medal tally was still being counted when this edition went to press last night.
