Student, teacher die in accidents

VARANASI: A class IX student died near Police Lines and a woman teacher died in Sarnath in accidents on Tuesday.
Shrawan Patel (18), a class IX student and a native of Varunapul locality in Cantonment and his cousin Akash (14) were returning from the house of their relative in Lalpur area on Tuesday morning home on a scooty. A bus hit their vehicle near the Police Lines.Shrawan died on the spot while Akash suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to DDU Hospital.
In another accident, Priyanka Singh (34), a native of Salarpur and teacher at government primary school in Nevada, died when a tractor hit her scooty near Dinapur in Sarnath. She died on the spot. The body was sent for postmortem examination.
Six passengers suffered serious injuries when a private mini-bus overturned after hitting a tree near Munari in Chaubeypur. The bus was going to Chaubeypur from Babatpur. The injured passengers said that near Munari, the driver started talking on mobile phone and lost control over the steering. He fled after the accident. The injured persons were rescued by local residents.
