Playing VKP’s wife was no cakewalk

… Says Isha Farha, who plays the role of a village belle in Vidooshakan, which has director V K Prakash in the lead
Playing VKP’s wife was no cakewalk
Isha Farha is no village belle. However, filmmaker V K Prakash felt she would be just right for a village belle’s role in his upcoming film, Vidooshakan, and cast her as his leading lady in the film. The movie, directed by T K Santosh, has VKP playing renowned writer Sanjayan and Isha is cast as his wife, Karthyayani. Interestingly, Isha has handled the choreography of the film too!
The techie-turned-actress, who has also bagged a prominent role in R S Vimal’s Ennumente Moideen that has Prithviraj in the lead, is thrilled to have played a character quite unlike her.

“I had to darken my brown hair for the role. I play the different stages in a woman’s life,” says the Malayali girl, who is settled in Bangalore. Being a period film, Vidooshakan showcases events from 1925 onwards.
Speaking about her role, Isha says, “Karthyayani is a traditional, innocent girl who is born and brought up in a village. She is also talented, and enjoys singing and dancing. Donning such a character in the company of seniors in the film fraternity like V K Prakash was indeed a challenge. However, he was extremely encouraging and so was the whole crew.”
Isha had previously starred in a few ads, music albums and the film, Progress Report. The actress, who is also a trained classical and contemporary dancer, has signed a couple of other projects, which will start rolling this year.
