A 45-year old woman was reportedly mauled to death by a tiger in Katni district, along the buffer zone of Bandhavgarh national park on Tuesday.

BHOPAL: A 45-year old woman was reportedly mauled to death by a tiger in Katni district, along the buffer zone of Bandhavgarh national park on Tuesday. After observing the pug marks, forest officials are suspecting it to be a male tiger.
The incident took place in Khitauli village when a woman, Guddu Bai, wife of Udaibhan went to collect firewood from nearby forest area.
She was apparently attacked by a tiger near Badbadi nullah, who dragged her to the nearby bushes, said cops. When she did not return, her son, Tekchand Namdeo also went to look for her a found her near the nullah. Body bore several injury marks on face, eyes, and hands, said police officials.
Tekchand informed police about the incident.
Additional SP Katni, Amit Sanghi told TOI, "The village is close to Bandhavgarh national park and there is every possibility of the big cat attacking the woman."
