Designer Surily Goel has launched a special colour infused line inspired by the festival of colours – Holi. The collection comprises stylish kurtas, ghagras and elegant sarees in brights and pastels a range of shades to complement the festival . Floral detailing and embellishments lend a glamorous touch to the traditional ensembles.Gold piping work and intricate borders enhance the festive look. “I wanted to a create a chic and stylish collection that was a change from the mundane kurta pyjamas that are commonly worn during this festive time”, explains designer Surily Goel.
One of the most established and recognisable names in the Indian fashion design fraternity today, Surily Goel, studied fashion designing in FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) Los Angeles. In November 2003, Surily started her own line of garments under the eponymous title ‘SURILY’. The designer launched her collection at India’s leading fashion store ‘Ensemble’, where she currently stocks. Thereafter, she went on to showcase her merchandise at “Kimaya” (Mumbai and Delhi), “Aza” (Mumbai, Delhi, Ludhiana), 'Fiza' (Mumbai ) & Hues.As a special showcase, Surily also featured at ‘Villa Moda’ (Kuwait), and her Wills India Fashion Week collection was picked up by a Fashion Store in Milan.
This young designer maintains that whilst fashion is her first love, films come a close second. Surily steadfastly established herself as a name to be reckoned with for styling and designing garments for Indian movies.
Her long list film credits include big budget movies like Salaam Namaste, Jaanema, Rituparno Ghosh’s The Last Lear and Ishkq in Paris, Chance Pe Dance, Blue and Ta Ra Rum Pum. Apart from the Big Screen, she has also styled many AD films and Television shows.
She has also been associated with the launch of various International Brands in India like Vacheron Constantin, Bvlgari and Paul and Shark. Surily has also styled Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Genelia D’Souza, Rani Mukherji, Hrithik Roshan for various endorsements.
