VARANASI: An array of cultural programmes, including vocal recitation by Pandit Jasraj will be organised on Sunday to mark the first death anniversary of Veer Bhadra Mishra, the late mahant of Sankat Mochan Temple.
The main ceremony and 'shram daan' by National Service Scheme volunteers will be held at Tulsi Ghat.
The rest of the cultural programmes will be held in Sankat Mochan Temple. A large number of people and well-wishers from India and abroad are expected to be present.
Meanwhile, the week-long drive to create awareness against the use of polythene by Sanskrit Dharma Vidya Sansthan, NSS unit of Banaras Hindu University and Jagriti Foundation continued for the second day on Saturday at Assi Ghat.
