The seventh edition of BAJA SAE held at Pithampur in Indore

The seventh edition of BAJA SAE, an annual intercollegiate automobile racing competition held at Pithampur, yet again witnessed an overwhelming response from engineering colleges from all across the nation. The three-day-long event, organized by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), had budding engineers flaunting their mean machines on race tracks.
The participants showcased their self-conceived and designed four-wheeler, single-seater all-terrain vehicles at the Endurance Race on the last day of the championship. Out of the 106 teams that could make it to the final round of endurance testing, GSRacers, the team from Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore, emerged as this year’s champions.
Out of the 15 teams from MP, Medicaps Institute of Technology and Management, Indore, bagged the Dronacharya Award, and SGSITS, apart from emerging as the overall winners, also got the Durability and Pride of Indore awards. “This victory is a result of immense hard work put in by the entire team. Now we’re looking forward to making a mark at the international level,” said an elated Shivendra Shukla, captain of the team.
