BAHRAICH: A shop keeper died when the thatched roof of a roadside shop caught fire on Thursday and fell on him.
Madhuban Mishra (38), a resident of Bhagwanpur in Hardi, was trying to save the cattle tied there when the incident occurred. A cow also perished. The Hardi police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem examination.
The SDM Mehsi said that the family of Madhuban would be given financial assistance of Rs 5 lakhs under Krishi Beema Yojna.

He said that if the family is listed as below the poverty line, financial assistance of Rs 20,000 would also be given to the family under Parivarik Laabh Yojna.
