Delhi very own nihari, kababs, tikkas and kulchas have won the hearts of gastronomes across the world. Four of the Capital's best known fine dining places have made a place for themselves among Asia's 50 best restaurants.

At No. 27, Bukhara at ITC Maurya tops the list of Indian restaurants, closely followed by Indian Accent (The Manor), Dum Pukht (ITC Maurya) and Varq (Taj Mahal Hotel). Two more restaurants- Wasabi by Morimoto in Mumbai (No.36) and Karavalli in Bangalore (No.49)-are also on the list.

ITC's Bukhara, which has now earned the title of The S. Pellegrino Best Restaurant in India, explores the rich taste of regional cuisine from North-West India. "The experience at Bukhara and Dum Pukht is a testimony to the quality of consistency, both in food and service that ITC has to offer," said a company spokesperson.

Taj Mahal Hotel's Varq, best known for its innovative masala tea creme brulee, sorbets and tomato mozzarella kulcha, has slipped down from last year's ranking to No. 30. "Varq is a melange of grandeur, style and panache and though we have slipped two positions this year, it is our constant endeavour to innovate and offer the best to our patrons," said the hotel's executive chef Amit Chowdhury.

He also hopes that Wasabi by Morimoto, New Delhi, will soon find a spot on the list too. Now in its second year, Asia's 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna and organised by William Reed Business Media, announced the 2014 winners at an awards ceremony in Singapore.
