Benitez: Talented Swansea play great football

A crucial game for Napoli, says Benitez

Napoli v Swansea, ITV4, 6.00pm

Napoli coach Rafael Benitez has labelled tonight's Europa League last-32 return leg against Swansea as "crucial" for his club.

The Italian side, who are third in Serie A, host the Swans at the Stadio San Paolo with all to play for, having been held to a goalless draw in the first leg by Garry Monk's men in Wales last week.

"We want to progress and in order to do that, we need to score more goals than they do and win," Benitez said.

"This is a crucial game for us. We are confident because we can do good things this season."

Benitez is aware his players will have to play better than they did in the first leg at the Liberty Stadium.

"We already saw that Swansea play great football," he said.

"We have to play as we know how, but we must increase the tempo.

"I know Swansea well. They did a great job against us as well as against Liverpool at the weekend.

"They have a team capable of progressing to the next round of the Europa League. We have to be ready."

Meanwhile, Monk insists his players can cope with the high stakes enviroment in front of a likely raucous home crowd.

"There will be a bit more intensity out there with the crowd behind them - I understand they will have a big crowd - and it will be a hostile environment, so I imagine they will play on that," Monk said.

"We have to be ready for them. As players, everyone experiences those atmospheres.

"It might not always be on as a big a scale as what we will face at Napoli, but these players have played in front of 80,000 or 90,000 people so they should be able to deal with it. It is part of their job."

Swansea will be without Michu and Jonjo Shelvey.
