Italian chief prosecutor indicted for power abuse in Berlusconi probe

LECCE, Italy, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- The chief prosecutor of Bari, Italy, was indicted Tuesday for allegedly trying to block probes into alleged sex parties at Silvio Berlusconi's homes.

Antonio Laudati was under investigation after he reportedly attempted to hamper investigations of Bari businessman Giampaolo Tarantini, who is suspected of supplying prostitutes to parties at Berlusconi's homes, the Italian news agency ANSA reported Tuesday.

Tarantini is suspected of providing at least 30 prostitutes to Berlusconi in an attempt to obtain government contracts, ANSA said.
