PARIS – Melanie Laurent (“Inglourious Basterds”), Berenice Bejo (“The Artist”) and Audrey Tautou (“The Da Vinci Code”) will star in “Eternity,” the next film by Venice Golden Lion winner Tran Anh Hung (“Cyclo”).

Pathe Intl. is handling international sales and will distribute in France.

Tran’s first feature in Frenc and which he also wrote, “Eternity” adapts for the bigscreen a novella by French writer Alice Ferney, “L’Elegance des veuves,” a story from the late 19th century to the end of the 20th century of three generations of women and their children, all born into a Catholic bourgeois family, as the women evolve from girls to mothers then widows, their husbands often killed by wars.

France’s Christophe Rossignon produces for Nord-Ouest; Belgium’s Artemis and Luxembourg’s Samsa Film co-produce. “Eternity” has also been pre-bought by France’s pay TV giant Canal Plus.

“Eternity” will shoot in France from summer. Tran’s “The Scent of Green Papaya” won Cannes’ 1993 Camera d’Or for first film.
