Balkh Residents Complains Over Lack of Registration Centers
A number of Balkh residents have complained of a lack of voting registration centers, with residents saying that the province has only two such centers.

Some of the residents could not register after three consecutive days of approaching the centers, due to a high demand for registration cards in the province.

Residents of Balkh Province have asked the Independent Election Commission (IEC) to increase number of registration centers in this province.

"I have been coming here for the past 3 days but couldn't register," said Khair Mohammad, a resident of Mazar-e-Sharif.

"Although my leg is hurt, I am coming here for the last two days to get a voting card," said Qudoos, another resident of Balkh.

Sayed Zabi, another resident of Balkh: "I want IEC to increase voter registration centers in this province."

The regional head of the IEC, Ezzatullah Arman, acknowledged the lack of voting centers in Balkh.

"I accept that there is a center and two areas of voter registration cards but crowd has increased since presidential campaigns have started. The second reason is when Provincial Council candidates start their campaigns in the upcoming days, they will encouarage people to get voting cards," he said.

Residents of Balkh are among the residents highly interested in voting.
