Music and wine almost spike ‘knotty’ groom’s wedding
JAIPUR: Overindulgence in wedding celebrations went horribly wrong for a groom and his father along with other family members in Alwar on Friday.
A few hours before the wedding, the duo got drunk with the groom on the horse back and music in full volume. Soon the "happy " family started dancing and celebrating on the street outside their house.
Fuming neighbours could not take the decibel and informed the police.
Nine persons, including the father-son duo, were arrested for creating ruckus, breaching peace.
They were released on bail in the nick of time about an hour before the wedding on Friday evening. Police said the wedding took place, but their stay in the police station toned them down.
SHO Shivaji Park police station Haripal Singh said the incident took place in Alwar’s Veer Savarkar Nagar around 1 am on Friday. “The groom Vivek Kumar and his father Sundar Lal, a subedar, and some family members were drunk and the volume of the music was intolerable. It was well past midnight and the music kept the entire area awake,” said Singh.
“We didn’t want to disrupt the wedding celebrations and asked the family to turn off the music and allow the neighbours to sleep, but our warnings went unheeded. So, we arrested the father-son duo and seven other family members for disrupting peace. It is a bailable offence,” said the officer.
