Juventus jubilant about win

Everyone’s expectations were met when the Juventus soccer team lifted the trophy of the Rihanna Moshoeshoe tournament on Sunday (04/12).

Juventus beat Barcelona with 1-0 during the finals. The win was secured through a goal by Norman Smith in the second half of the game, played at the A.R. Abass Stadium.

Juventus won the tournament for a third time, after winning it in 2011 and in 2013.

Coach Steven Gaborone admitted the difficulty they had experienced against Barcelona. He said the game was tough, as Barcelona was one of the strongest teams in the league.

“We expected the game to be diffi- cult, but we were determined to take the cup to its home, which is with us.

“We would not allow the same mistakes of last year to drive the trophy to another team,” he said.

Juventus prides itself in having a good season after winning three tournaments. The team won the Sol Plaatje Football League, the Easter Tournament and Sunday’s tournament.

Gaborone said their victories were all thanks to the good coaching, and discipline among the players. He expressed his gratitude towards the team management for the support he had received throughout the season.
