Let us take a few minutes to pause and reflect, because a momentous anniversary has arrived: Five years ago this month, Snooki donned the costume we all hoped and dreamed she would.

Tasked with judging a costume contest on October 30, 2010 at the Mirage in Las Vegas, the "Jersey Shore" star emerged on the red carpet sporting a pickle-slice sequined dress and a floor-length verdant cape while brandishing a pickle-topped scepter. The result: a green goddess straight from the local grocery store.

Why did Nicole Polizzi dress up as the Queen of Vlasic, you ask? As any devoted fan recalls, Snooki had a daily habit of snacking on pickles. She ate them so much, in fact, that the ever-immature “Shore” guys such as Pauly D and Vinny couldn’t help but pick on her for it -- as seen in the clip below.

“What are you laughing at?” she asked innocently.

Hey, we’re not laughing over here! We think the pickled cucumber is a fantastic invention -- fantastic enough to use as inspiration for a Halloween costume.
