India's limited overs captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is busy promoting his biopic 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' these days. In trying to do so, he's travelling across continents and meeting new people. Now back in India with just days to go for the release of his film, Dhoni went to Chennai, a city where he shares a special bond.

From making his Test debut at Chepauk to captaining the hugely-popular IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, Dhoni has received tremendous love and affection from the people of Chennai. Friday was no different for the India's limited-overs captain as he walked in to a 'house full' Sathyam Cinemas, for the promotion of his biopic.

And Chennai was the place where he met Superstar Rajnikanth and when the two posed for the photo, it was too starry to handle. Dhoni spoke about the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film that will be released.

The 35-year-old is moved by the fact that a movie is made on him and is surprised that it was made so early. "I never thought it will happen so quickly, I thought it will take its time. It felt different to be speaking about my life and recall the incidents that have happened in my life. The past starts to resurface in front of you, and it was a different feeling altogether," Dhoni said.

Dhoni was also praising Sushant Singh Rajput, the actor who took up the mantle of playing Dhoni's character in the movie. "I feel Sushant is a tremendous actor and has got into the character. He practised for about nine months to get those shots right and was batting for close to two-and-a-half hours each day. While he never complained whenever he had to bat, he did so while doing the wicket-keeping drills. He complained of having to squat a lot, and that his fingers would hurt catching those balls. I told him, if you catch it right, then it won't hurt," he said.

The very mention of Chennai and its people lit up Dhoni's face. "The city is what it is because of the people. Chennai is my second home and I have played a lot of cricket. My Test debut was here and the biryani here is also special. People often talk about the biryani one gets in Kolkata or Hyderabad but the one here too is nice. The south Indian cuisine, the filter coffee and the leather goods one gets here are of high quality," said Dhoni.

'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' will release on September 30.
