The depression system will continue to move north-northeastwards and cross Odisha’s coast close to Paradip shortly, it said.

Under its impact, rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places of Odisha during the next 24 hours.

There is also a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in districts of coastal Odisha and heavy rainfall at some places in interior parts of the state during the next 24 hours, the Met office said.

In view of the weather conditions, it has been advised that local cautionary signal Number Three (LC-III) be kept hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur Ports in Odisha.

Strong and gusty surface winds, reaching up to 65 kilometres per hour (kmph), from the northeasterly direction would blow along the Odisha coast.

Sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough and fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea, the Met office said.
