Ssangyong Issues Recall Of Rexton SUV In India For Driveshaft Issue
SsangYong has issued a recall of the Rexton SUV sold in the Indian market. Unfortunately, models that are affected by the recall has not been revealed yet. The issue lies with a faulty rear driveshaft in the premium SUV.
Only models manufactured prior to September 2014, could have a faulty rear driveshaft. Mahindra & Mahindra introduced the SsangYong Rexton in India during 2012. The Rexton SUV was the first model introduced in India by Mahindra-SsangYong partnership.
All SsangYong Rexton customers will be contacted individually by the manufacturer. The recall procedure is being followed as per the guidelines laid by SIAM. SsangYong engineers will check the faulty part and if needed, will replace parts free of cost.
At this moment, SsangYong offers the Rexton SUV with a 2.7-litre diesel engine. The Rexton diesel engine is available in two state of tunes 162bhp and 184bhp. The SsangYong Rexton is priced competitively, from Rs. 21.90 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai) onward.
