Two female students, including a NEET aspirant, commit suicide in Chennai

Two girl students allegedly committed suicide by hanging in separate incidents in the city, the police said today. The deceased are identified as Mounika (20), a final-year BTech student of a private college, and a 17-year-old intermediate second year student.

Two girl students allegedly committed suicide by hanging in separate incidents in the city, the police said today. The deceased are identified as Mounika (20), a final-year BTech student of a private college, and a 17-year-old intermediate second year student. 

According to police, Mounika hanged herself in the bathroom of her house last afternoon in Suraram Colony following an "argument" with her mother.

A social media post attributed to Mounika reads: "Nowadays...I am afraid to be happy...I don't know y people don't want to look at me when I am happy in my life. Every moment in my life is going so worst...I am just passing out through them...by learning lessons from everything happening my life".

A case was registered under section 174 of CrPC in this regard, Dundigal police station inspector Shankaraiah said.

In another incident, the 17-year-old girl hanged herself from a ceiling fan with stole in her hostel room in Madhapur area last night.
She was undergoing coaching for NEET for medicine at a private educational institute, a police official said, adding that the girl was taken to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared her as brought dead.

A family member of the deceased said they didn't know why she took the extreme step.
A case was registered in this regard and further probe is on. PTI VVK NSK
