Delhi's top bureaucrat has alleged that he was assaulted and abused by two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Monday night.

Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash has complained to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal that Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan and another lawmaker attacked him in the presence of Kejriwal during a meeting.

The ruling party denied the allegations as "ludicrous" and claimed that the bureaucrat is doing so at the "BJP’s behest."

According to media reports, Delhi Police has not yet received any complaint about the incident yet.

Following the incident, Delhi Administrative Subordinates services announced a strike with immediate effect, bringing the Delhi government to a halt.

Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan was one of the two leaders named by the chief secretary in his complaint letter to the LG.

Rejecting the charges, the AAP said: "About 2.5 lakh families deprived of rations last month due to faulty implementation of Aadhaar. MLAs were under tremendous pressure from public. There was a meeting of MLAs at CM residence. Chief Secretary refused to answer questions saying that he was not answerable to MLAs and CM and that he was answerable only to LG. He even used bad language against some MLAs and left without answering any questions."

"Now he is making such ludicrous allegations. Obviously, he is doing it at BJP’s behest. BJP has stooped v low in disrupting governance in Del thro LG and officers," an AAP statement said.

"If CS can make such wild allegations, one can imagine the kind of obstacles that are being created in AAP govt’s work by BJP through the officers," it said.

Reacting to the incident, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said, "Kejriwal should apologise for this hooliganism which took place before him."

"AAP Govt is unable to deliver-Beating of Chief Secretary by MLAs in front of CM is another low & is aimed to divert attention from Govt failures! AAP does not know Governance and has failed miserably," he said.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Ashish Khetan and minister Imran Hussain alleged that they were assaulted inside Delhi Secretariat by staffers.
